Football Field Rule & Lightning Detector System
New field rules – only water is allowed on the turf fields. No dogs, scooters or skateboards are allowed at the park. No hard soled shoes (metal cleats or spikes), no tape, no gum/candy and nothing stuck in the ground. Please no pets, no alcohol or smoking in the park. Finally, do not park on the grass, your car could be towed by the park ranger.
We do a have lightning predictor system at the park. If the alarm sounds, everyone must leave the field at once and take shelter in cars. The system waits 20 minutes and if there isn't any more lightning, the indicator will issue three short 5 second blasts to alert when it is safe to return to games or practice. If there is more lightning the 20 minute cycle begins again. Cheerleaders are to stay at the park until they hear from their coaches that practice has been officially called on or off.
